How Does Cannabis Help Communities (Taxes, jobs etc.)?

The positive effects of cannabis are usually obstructed from view for the majority of the public; impact on crime and influence on youth continue to be debated – even where studies have shown cannabis to be a frequent scapegoat for these issues. With that in mind it is refreshing to see such a tangible and measurable impact such as $42 million dollars in recreational marijuana tax.

These are real funds that will make an immediate impact on Michigan communities; funding schools, public safety, roads, and emergency vehicles. Only 7% percent of Michigan’s 1,777 communities have chosen to allow recreational marijuana sales, how many more benefits can we see from a larger portion of the state becoming open to the jobs, redevelopment and taxes that cannabis can provide?
