Consensus recommendations on dosing of medical cannabis for treating chronic pain

Research is always catching up to many long-held beliefs of the cannabis community. Firsthand accounts of cannabis helping with pain are all around us but this study does an incredible job of providing data backed methods for dosing. This is an area severely lacking quality research so we’re excited to put an extra spotlight on it. There was consensus that medical cannabis may be considered for patients experiencing neuropathic, inflammatory, nociplastic, and mixed pain. Specific methods are provided on how to begin from micro-dosing all the way up to tolerating 40 mg THC daily based on need. A process starting from CBD dosing has some advantages to transition into larger daily THC doses. A key reason for choosing to initiate with a CBD-predominant variety was to prioritize safety as CBD is highly tolerable, does not induce euphoria, and has a low risk for adverse effect. These guides will be all the more critical as more of the population begins to incorporate cannabis into their daily lives.
